Certification
Goal
The goal for students enrolled in the Computer Repair Technician course is to study computer repair and build necessary skills while working toward certification by passing the CompTIA A+ certification exams and the new Testout PC Pro Certification. Successful completion of the course will allow students to be eligible to take the Computer Repair Practicum course where final preparations for certification can be pursued.
Students must pass two exams to become A+ certified. The exams that must be taken are 220-901 and 220-902. The cost of each exam at the time of this writing is $199.00. (Aug. 2016)

Taking The A+ Test
Prior to taking the test, students should be able to pass all practice tests provided with the curriculum with scores close to 100%. Students who meet this prerequisite should have no difficulty passing the A+ certification exams.

TestOut's PC Pro Certification
Practicum students will also be qualified to take TestOut's new PC Pro Certification. This exam is unique in that it consists exclusively of real-to-life hardware and software scenario.
